Ecological pyramid

Ecological pyramid is a structure levels in an ecosystem that shows the relationship between trophic structure and trophic function. Ecological pyramid shape the relationship between organisms in a trophic level indicates the material cycles, energy flow and productivity.

Ecological pyramid there are three different forms, namely:

1. pyramid Energy

Pyramid Energy is used to calculate the speed and compare different ecosystems based on the position of the population in an ecosystem. Energy pyramid is the best picture because it does not depend on the size and number of individuals, but it describes the amount of energy at trophic level.

2. pyramid Number

Pyramid number describes the relationship density / number of individuals between the higher trophic level trophic level, the smaller the population density / number.

3. pyramid of Biomass

Biomass pyramid is a pyramid depicting the blend during the whole organism in a particular habitat. Mass is measured in grams. Biomass pyramid shape is usually smaller for each trophic level. Biomass is the amount of total dry weight of all organisms in an ecosystem.
