Straight cable is a cable that has the same mounting method between the end of one to the other end. Straight cable is used to connect two different devices.

Crossover cable is a cable that has a different arrangement between the end of the toe or two. Crossover cable is used to connect two devices together.

Examples of the use crossover cables are as follows:

     Connecting 2 computers directly
     * Connecting 2 pcs switch
     * Connect 2 pieces hub
     * Connecting a switch to a hub
     * Connecting a computer to the router
