meaning and function of utp cable

meaning and function of utp cable

To understand the function of UTP cable, the better we discuss the notion of time about what it stands for UTP or Unshielded twisted-pair. UTP cable is a type of cable is made of conducting material copper, have isolation from plastic and coated with an insulating material that can protect from fire and physical damage.

UTP cable consists of four pairs of complicated inter-core cable, each pair has a different color code. UTP cable has no protection from electromagnetic interference, but this type of cable is widely used because of the relatively low price and functions that it is in conformity with the standards expected.

UTP cable function is used as a wired network LAN (Local Area Network) on a computer network system, and the UTP cable typically has approximately 100 ohm impedance, and is divided into several categories based on ability as a conductor of the data.

In everyday use, UTP cable has been very well used as a wired computer networks such as the use of office space or in an enterprise network system. Regarding some of the weaknesses and shortcomings UTP cables that are not resistant to electromagnetic fields and collision damage to a hard object, it can still be overcome by installing a protective outer tube such as plastic.
